There was news of a big announcement and it is fairly big. Vocaloid 3 has been announced and so far the only links I have are:

It'll have more realistic voices and you can port the old ones to Vocaloid 3 for better sound. Hibiki Lui as the male and female Ring Suzune may be the new characters that'll come with its release.
